AFTERCARE
The healing process will take around 4-6 weeks - your brows will go through multiple healing stages during this time. It is important to follow our instructions carefully, as how you care for your brows during the healing period can drastically affect your final result.
After your procedure:
Gently blot the area with clean, wet tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every hour for the full day until the weeping has stopped. Removing this fluid helps minimise scabbing. Apply the specially formulated aftercare balm that we provide using a clean cotton bud 3-4 times during the day. Avoid using any skin care products in the brow area. Any time you must touch your eyebrows, use a very gentle hand. If your brows become dry or itchy, avoid scratching, and reapply the aftercare balm to soothe the area instead.
Additional Tips To Aid Healing:
-
Use a fresh pillowcase
-
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
-
DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area - picking can cause scarring or loss of pigment and patchy healed results
-
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away
-
No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after treatment
-
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week
-
Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area until fully healed
-
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure - wear large sunglasses and/or a hat when outdoors
-
Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days
-
Avoid swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days
-
Long showers and hot baths should be avoided, and take good care when washing hair to avoid touching the area.
What to expect:
Your eyebrow treatment will look darker for the first few days, then as the top layers of skin come away, the pigment can seem a lot lighter but will later show through. The 6-8 week top-up appointment is a vital part of the procedure, in which we fill gaps, make minor corrections, and 'set' everything in place.
As the pigment ages, it is common to notice a change in colour, sometimes the tone can seem cooler and at other times it can look warmer. If this becomes a concern, you can return after 12-24 months for a colour boost treatment to restore the colour.
But remember, everyone heals differently!
REMEMBER: You are unable to donate blood for up to 12 months following any semi-permanent makeup treatment.
